chapter fortyTalk  It was dark. The kitchen room was really dark because no light was illuminating the place. Alice just woke up at the middle of the night because she was thirsty, but she didn’t turn any light on. She decided to walk with no illumination towards the kitchen and, surprisingly, she didn’t stumble with anything.Even if she was still wearing a dreamy and tired face, she could walk properly.Alice took the bottle of water between both of her hands and drink a bit of the cold potation. The icy beverage she just took from the refrigerator made her feel fresh and more awake. It was a pleasing feeling drinking such distaste, but stimulating beverage.As she placed her unfinished drink the girl noticed someone coming inside the room too. It was a rather tall and slender figure and the apprentice recognized it as she lifted her gaze from the very moment he walked into the kitchen; the only light illuminating the room was the one coming from the window, but it was enough to recognize that it was Lu Han. He seemed he just woke up because of his bed-hair and the loose clothes he was wearing. And Alice had to admit it was a pleasant look. Seeing him with such a tousled hair made him look more mature. It made her feel more attracted to him.“Why are you up this early?” Lu Han asked as he sat in front of her.Alice turned her gaze towards the clock. It was around five in the morning already. Too early for her taste, but she couldn’t sleep afterwards.She shrugged her shoulders in response meaning she didn’t know the reason. And she noticed him laughing softly.Just by his presence, just by his smiles and laughs, just by his tender gaze, Alice felt warm and happy. Just by the sudden hear of his voice the girl feels flustered and her heart beats faster.And it was the same with Lu Han.“So, Alice, you’re human too,” Lu Han said as he took Alice’s bottle of water and drank from it. She noticed his adam’s apple moving up and down as he drank her beverage. It was a sight you don’t get to see every day. Lu Han looked way manlier that time making Alice blushed from her thoughts.Actually, Alice also thought of it as an indirect kiss and felt a bit nervous of it. More than everything she was flustered.She deviate her gaze from a provocative Lu Han towards her hands.“I am. Sorry for not telling you from the begging. I understand if you are made with me. I mean…It was an important issue after all,” Alice said as she played with her fingers in a cute way.Silly. Lu Han smiled. “Actually, I’m glad it turned out like that. That way I have more chances with you”Alice lifted her gaze timidly and realized Lu Han was just a few inches away from her. He had come way closer. And due to the window’s kitchen being behind them, Alice could gaze his soft features perfectly even if it was a bit dark.“And why you get so timid with the indirect kiss, eh? We already kissed, silly.” Lu Han lifted his hand and curled Alice’s hair behind her ear, that way he could examined her face better.“I guess we already did,” she mumbled smiling a bit.“You guess? You want me to remind it to you?”And before Alice could even protest Lu Han’s hand made its way towards her chin, lifting it slightly, giving him a better angle to place his lips against hers.She felt a flaming feeling on her lips. Lu Han’s lips was caressing hers with soft moments that melted her, her body and her heart, because it was so caring and tender. Never before she was kissed like that and Alice loves the new feeling she was experimenting with him. Lu Han was the first male who had kissed her in that enflaming way.The one who stopped the kiss was him, leaving her wanting more. Alice blushed with her thought. She felt embarrassed of thinking that way.Lu Han smirked at her. Her flustered reactions were really funny for him to watch and cute too.“Alice,” he started making her look directly at him, “Why when we kissed I don’t feel like the first time? I mean, you are not stealing my vital energy every time we kiss”Alice bit her lower lip, but smiled. “Even I can’t explain it properly. The first time I stole a kiss from you was due to necessity. It was like my body knew about it and depleted yours because there were no feelings attached. But even that time I believe there were small boundaries between us and it just turn out that way. It’s just like if my body knew the time when the kiss it’s for stealing people’s vital energy and when it’s for other purposes” Lu Han had a playfully smirk on his lips. So, he assumed that he could freely kiss his girlfriend without being burden by the fact she can stole his energy by kissing. It was good news for him.“I know what are you thinking, Lu Han. Don’t you even dare to,” Alice mentioned as she stood up. Lu Han stood up too, getting near her and making her stumbled a bit.“Tell me what I’m thinking.” He walked a bit closer making Alice flinch until she felt her back touch the kitchen’s wall.In that moment, Alice felt like no words came out from her mouth. She felt so hypnotized by his tender and playful eyes that left her speechless.And what made her woke up from her thoughts was the sudden light emanating from the window next to her. The sun’s shine was reflected by the window’s glass making the room got brighter. In that moment, Alice, who had closed her eyes and sighed, felt lighter.But in the very moment Lu Han noticed her eyes close, he smirked and got near. He kissed her passionately for a few seconds. It was a pleasant feeling that traveled down her spine. And before Alice could process what just happened Lu Han had already standing a few meters away from her. And, once again, Lu Han had left her wanting more from his delicate but intense kisses.This is what Alice was referring too.The sudden initiative from Lu Han kissing her out of nothing. But she was his girlfriend -Alice smiled with that thought; she wasn’t used to addressing herself like that, yet- she had to get used to his touches and kisses. His leading wasn’t burdensome, but rather something the girl found cute and caring.In that moment, when the sun’s light illuminated the room, Lu Han took a glance at Alice’s cute bun and her oversize pink shirt and her loose gray swept-pants. Her hair was a bit messy, but she looked extremely beautiful in his eyes.“Nice pajamas,” he commented.Alice laughed as she bit her lower lip softly. “I can say the same for you.”"Touché"In that moment, the apprentice walked near him and caressed his soft messy hair with her fingers. She played with his limp hair making it more untidy. It was her purpose. And before Lu Han could complain Alice run out of the room, leaving him with a disordered hairstyle and a sincere and loving smile plastered on his lips.When he was about to leave the room, Lu Han heard a knock. It was a sudden sound like if someone was knocking against a window.He turned towards the object he thought and his eyes got rounded.A demon was knocking on the kitchen’s window this early in the morning and he knew he had seen him before.It was the demon who shared his vital energy with his girlfriend.In that moment, Lu Han’s hands turned into a fist because of jealousy, but calmed himself afterwards. There must be a reason for his sudden visit, so he opened the window allowing the demon enter the apartment.“You’re Lu Han, right?” the mentioned one nodded as the demon continued talking, “I’m Xiumin. Nice to finally meet you”Lu Han eyed his notorious black and big wings, which soon disappeared in a blink. Those wings were different from the ones he saw from Sulli or The Guardians Heaven. It had a deeper and darker color mixed with a sad feeling.After Xiumin brief introduction, he noticed the disturbing gaze on Lu Han’s eyes. Like if he was waiting for the demon to explain his sudden appearance.“So…you and Alice are dating, aren’t you?”Lu Han only nodded in response.“Hey, you don’t have to be that cold with me. After all, I’m Alice’s friend,” Xiumin laughed at his intense gaze trying to cease the unwelcome feeling inside the room.Still if he was friends with Alice, who can assure he won’t betray her? It might sound mistrusted, but it was reality. Xiumin was a demon and Lu Han didn’t know him well, so he only judged him by his nature.Which was wrong, because Alice just proved her the contrary.“I just came to tell you something important about her and I believe she had hidden all the time she was here”“That she was half-demon?” Lu Han wondered.Xiumin laughed and shook his head. The topic was rather deeper and sadder. As he finished laughing his smile faded away in an instant and his gaze changed from a playful one towards a serious one. “It’s about her origins.
