Chapter Two (1/1)

It had been almost a week since Kai came home to Korea, and LuHan and SeHun had been practically walking on eggshells around him. They both knew something was wrong, but anytime they brought it up, Kai would flip out and gripe at them. He remained insistent that he never met anyone in England, and he seemed so frustrated every time they asked that they took to avoiding him altogether.Tonight, though, was the welcome back party the couple had planned for Kai, with a lot of friends coming over. Kai was excited about the party; he was very popular in high school and a lot of people were supposed to be there, including Kyungsoo.For years, Do Kyungsoo had been the object of Kai's affection. Kai had never quite been brave enough to approach him, though; he was always a bit afraid of how Kyungsoo would take it. He never showed any signs of being gay and if he weren't then Kai confessing would have been a mess, breaking their friendship forever.Kai had just finished getting dressed when the doorbell rang. He heard LuHan welcoming guests into the apartment, happily and cheerily directing them where to put their coats. Kai took a deep breath and checked his hair one final time before turning for the door. As his hand touched the doorknob, he had a momentary lapse and couldn't focus; it was as if all he could see was these beautiful, deep brown eyes staring at him. He shook his head to clear the vision, confused as to where it came from. He was sure he had never met anyone with those eyes before, and so after only a moment to collect himself, he stepped out into the party.Several hours later, Kai found himself in the kitchen, draining a glass of water. He had been talking and playing karaoke and was looking for a bit of a break from it all, but he saw movement at the doorway and glanced over to see Kyungsoo hesitating.
