Head Games (1/1)

“Anlia?”“What?” I answered in a tight voice. I had a tough morning, tripping down the stairs and aching all over. Lang Lang had looked at me with sympathetic eyes during rehearsal when I got frustrated, but we eventually got over it.Julia poked her head in with a bright smile. “I was wondering if you were in. You haven’t been around recently.”I tensed. She looked like she had a secret, with a sly look in her eyes. “I’ve been busy meeting with people,” I answered curtly. “What do you want?”“This my brother John.” A blonde haired guy stepped beside her. “He has been appointed your bodyguard.”“I don’t need one.”“Sorry. Lang Lang’s manager’s orders. He’ll accompany you when you go out.”“Okay. I’ll guess I’ll see you later, John.” I went back to my magazine, hoping I made it clear they were dismissed.”Julia gave a puzzled look, but then smiled. “Also I was to instruct you that dinner is going to be served a half an hour earlier.”I closed my magazine. “Okay. I’ll be out then.”Julia nodded and closed the door. “You stand outside and wait for her,” I heard say, her voice muffled.I shook my head and got onto my computer, and signed onto chat. Hey, you there? I typed in, and sent to Min.Yeah. What’s up?I have a BODYGUARD. WTF???Exactly. I think there’s something fishy. Can you ask Lang Lang’s manager what is going on? I think this guy is actually going to follow me, so I can’t do such a thing.Okay.Thanks, you’re the best.I signed off and opened the door. John looked quickly, startled.“Some body guard you are,” I muttered under my breath. “Come on, we’re going to dinner.”After dinner, Min slipped me a piece of paper. I unfolded it. Mr. Feng has no idea who that guy is. He just assumed it was a friend.I crumbled it and ripped into pieces. Just what I thought. John was a poser. I smiled a smile to myself. Two can play this game. And I’ve played many games with Julia. I'm sure she's on her toes. She just doesn't know I have always been on mine.
