Chapter 1 (1/1)

Loraine Stared blankly out of the window of the classroom wishing the time would go faster, the English teacher was droning on about some poem that had been written eons ago that no one had an interest in. it's not that she didn't have an interest in literature, in fact she loved it, she liked reading books and Jane Austin was one of her favourate authors however Miss McMillan's lifeless voice could make the Romantic story ever told (Romeo and Juliet) sound like the most boring thing ever written. Judging by the amount of texting going on under the tables, it was hugely shared opinion. She sighed and reached for her own phone, she was about to start complaining to her friends about how McMillian's voice was making her contemplate jumping out of the window when a piece of paper landed on her desk. She gave the guy who had put it there a questioning look since they never talked to each other ecxept for when asking for a pen. The guy pointed to his other side where a face Loraine was familiar with, it wasn't anything special, anyone who bothered to browse the internet or flip through magazines would know who he is. Lu Han, the youngest son of one of the biggest companies going, last time she had read the gossip columns, he was set to inherit everything from his grandfather, if it was true, it made him one of the richest bachelors around and he wasn't even past twenty five yet.She shrugged when he didn't turned around to acknowldge the note passing and opened it curiosly, she needed something to kill her boredom anyways I know your secret Loraine froze, a lump formed in her throat and she swallowed with great difficulty. Had she been discovered?, how?, she was sure no one knew, her mother had gone to great lengths over the years to make sure she wasn't discovered, how had he found out. She started scribbling a reply quickly while wheels in her head turned trying to figure out how to get out out of the sticky situation“Miss Harloway”Loraine looked up at the the mention of her name “yes Miss”“care to answer the question?” Miss McMillan saidLoraine bit her lip trying to remember what the topic had been, her mind came up blank “errr” she started stalling, the bell rang and she sighed in relief “maybe next time Miss”she got out of there before the teacher could say anything. She met her friend Sandra outside the door and they headed towards the cafetiria“talk about saved by the bell” Sandra commented as they walked“tell me about it, good thing too coz I had no clue what the lesson was about” she replied“why did you take that class? I mean you're in University, don't you have enough on your plate with your degree as it is?”Loaine sighed “it was a good idea at the time, I wanted a break from all the business terms I have to learn, and it's third year, I have a little time to spare”“lucky you, i'm swamped undeath all the material I have to produce” Sandra complained. Depsite the protests, Loraine her friend wouldn't change the course for anything else, she had been talking clothes designer since they had met in high school.“and you're loving every minute of it aren't you” Loraine teasedSandra pretended to think about it then nodded enthusisticly causing her curly hair now dyed to a funky looking blonde to bounce up and down.Loraine rolled her eyes at her friend and they entered the cafetiria which was teaming with people either scoffing down food or just sat there catching up with friends. If not for the designer bags and expensive proches parked outside, you'll think Halford University was just like any other University but it was anything but ordinary. It educated rich people's kids and the range was phenominum, from small businesses to multi millionares, Loraine was convinced there was an arabic prince in her class. However not everyone who went there was rich, she had been surprised to find that a huge number of the student population was pretty ordinary, an amusing thing since everyone considered it a 'Rich kids” Uni.“anyways what did you want to tell me?” Sandra changed the topic “you mentioned wanting to talk and it sounded urgent”“yeah” Loraine replied, she should have known stalling Sandra wouldn't get her far, the girl wasn't esily distracted “i'll tell you when we sit down, too many ears around here” she muttered the last bit looking around the que at the people surrounding them
