Key Is Back (1/2)
It was a beautiful Thursday afternoon as Charlotte Fournier rocked back on her chair in class, blocking out what the teacher was saying about the French Revolution and its horrific consequences. Charlotte was looking out of the window next to her and up at the baby-blue sky, looking at a flock of birds flying high in circles. She was entranced by the birds; they were flying and having fun by themselves, completely unaware of what went on around them. Like the birds, she could not wait to leave school and be free. She was excited, giddy as a school girl, because she was going to see Key in half an hour's time; the person whom she missed so much, the person who she longed to see again, the person who she loved.
Yes, Charlotte Fournier loved Kim Kibum; you see, 6 years ago when Kim Kibum left Charlotte to return to Korea, he thought he had made a good friend with the 12 year-old girl, Key thought that his holiday was indeed a holiday with no strings attached. But what he did not realise was that during the time spent with Charlotte, he accidentally planted something deep in her heart, in her mind, in her soul; a feeling stronger than friendship, a feeling that made Charlotte feel special and loved. As Charlotte grew, that feeling grew with her; it made her heart swell with happiness and pleasure when she watched videos of SHINee, especially mini clips of Key doing silly things. Even when she dated boys the image of Key was always present in her mind, so much so that the thought of him usually ruined her dates. Not that it mattered to her since most of her dates reminded her of Key in one aspect; she was a b*tch for dating for that sole reason, but she didn't care: they didn't worth anything to her since all they wanted was fondling with her bra straps or trying to do her in an alleyway. They didn't care, so why should she?
Only Key mattered.
Charlotte sat back, her eyes scanned the whiteboard, bored of the lesson. She flipped her wrist: 3.05pm. In 25 minutes, the school would finish, and she would be meeting Key at her grandmother's B&B at 3.45pm. Time couldn't go any slower.
"You'll come straight back, okay?" SHINee's manager said to Key in the airport, "No dilly-dallying, no playing with girls; I don't want to hear any news of you in France, got it?"
"Yes," Kim Kibum nodded his head, his dark shades covering his eyes so he would not be recognised by people around him and his manager, "I'll come straight back, no fiddle-faddle."
"Good." His manager confirmed, his face stayed un-smiling, "I'll see you this Saturday." He turned and walked away while two men, who were standing a fair distance from Key and the manager, began to walk towards Key. Both men have their sunglasses covering their eyes and as they were walking closer, Key could clearly recognise the figure of Lee Taemin and Lee Jinki, who hung back so the youngest member could speak first.
"Why are you staying here, hyung?" Lee Taemin asked, his blond hair were roughly swept back to reveal his delicate jaw-line and high cheekbones, a look that was used in the French perfume ad which Taemin quite liked, thus he was keeping it until they were back in Korea. "Are you doing more sight-seeing? I want to come with you-"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because."
"Because what?"
"You know," Key said, "for someone so young and silly, you sure do have a lot of questions."
"Because I'm curious. Oooooh…" Taemin's eyes sparkled mischievously behind his sunglasses, "are you seeing that model you flirted today?"
"What model?"
"Don't be coy, hyung, I know you're a player. I saw you eyeing up on that brunette on the other side of the studio."
"Oh yeah, her," Key said, his eyes glittered, "she was a beauty, definitely my type. The way she held those cups, her beauty spots, that hair! She's a killer all right."
"Hyung, stop with the sarcasm. You know I'm not talking about the old bag with warts carrying the tray of coffee-"
"But she was so voluptuous-"
"You mean flabby."
"What perfume did she use? She smelled like-"
"Fart."
Key raised his eyebrows. "My dear maknae, you have a lot to learn. Women age like fine wine and with her-"
"She ages like milk." And with that Taemin strode away, casually waving a V-sign before strolling towards their manager who was now waiting for Jinki to join them.
What a kid. Key smirked as the leader of SHINee walked towards him.
"And what do you want?" Key asked, already knowing the answer, "That I should listen to this-" he touched where his heart was- "instead of this?" He pointed to his head.
"Yes.." Onew started.
"Oh save it," Key scoffed, irritated and annoyed, "I know what you're doing; you're still trying to get rid of me from SHINee. That's not going to happen, hyung, so I suggest you stop trying. Me getting back with her will never happen; I could never leave SHINee-"
"You can never or you will never?"
Key stared at his hyung; the person who saw him as an obstacle, the person who would spoil his chances to become someone, the wrecker.
"You see, Key, all you see- no, all you want to see is that I am someone who wants to be rid of you, who wants to get you out of SHINee-"
"Which you are." Key stated.
"But from where I am standing I am looking at a blind person, a person who can physically see but fails to see the obvious: a person who is too stupid to grasp that right here-" Onew pointed at the ground, "in ten minutes or so, happiness will be looking at that pabo's face and he still won't realise. And do you know why? Because that idiot is so bent on reaching for the moon when he could be the happiest guy in the world if he wasn't so full of himself and wanting more than what he had bargained for."
"Stop." Key snapped. "That's enough."
"Prove me wrong, Key," Onew said softly, "when I see you on Saturday, tell me that I was wrong."
