Chapter 5 (1/1)
[Jonghyun's POV]
“I see you’ve found the place,” I said to the girl standing in front of me.She turned and was about to reply when her face went pale. Mine did too.Standing in front of me was Lee Jiyeon. Just my luck.“I’m sorry, I didn’t know this was your apartment, I’ll leave right away,” she said and began walking towards the door.“Wait! Wait. Listen, I know we haven’t gotten off to a very good start but I really need to put this place on rent and soon. I kind of need the money right now,” I said in one breath. I’d been trying to find a flatmate for a month now and I really couldn’t wait much longer. So what if it had to be her? As long as we stayed far away from each other we’d be fine. She stopped in her tracks and turned to face me.“I kind of need a place to stay too,” she murmured.“Great, why don’t we just sit and talk about this then?”“Okay.. but where’s the other girl?” Jiyeon asked.“What other girl?”“The one I’m going to be sharing this apartment with. My roommate.”Oh shit. Maybe, just maybe, I’d forgotten to mention to her that I was in fact, her roommate.“Err, Jiyeon-shi.. there is no other girl. This is my apartment. I live here.”Her eyes widened as she took in this information. Why did she have to look so pretty even when she was in shock? After what seemed like forever, she said, “I’m sorry Jongyhun-shi, there’s no way in hell I could live with someone like you.”Ouch. That hurt.“Yah, what do you mean by someone like me?”“An arrogant, pompous jerk who doesn’t know how to talk to a girl, that’s what I mean! Not to mention, a player too!”“Talk about yourself, I saw you and Jaejoong getting pretty darn cosy back there. By the look of the mark on your neck you seemed to have had some fun yourself.”“BWOH?!” she screamed as she instantly raised her hand to touch her neck. Damn, she had a nice neck. Jaejoong, that fool, how could he touch her and bruise her like that, he – wait, WHY DO I EVEN CARE?!“Whatever, I don’t trust players like you, I’m sorry but I can’t do this,” she said and started to walk towards the door again.“Wait!” I said and grabbed onto her arm, pulling her back. “Look, I promise not to touch you okay? I’m not into you anyway, you’re just not my type.”“And by type you mean a player like yourself?” she snapped.“You’ve already proved that you are a player so no, that’s not what I meant. Listen, I really need the money and you really need a place to stay. Plus, you’re not gonna get a place much cheaper than this. And it’s furnished. All you have to do is put up with me and I promise not to make it hard for you to do that. We’ll stay out of each other’s way, okay?”“Fine. But you lay one finger on me Kim Jonghyun and you won’t live to see another day,” she threatened. Fiesty.“Great! Welcome home, roomie!”-[Jiyeon's POV]
I can’t believe I’m doing this. I’m going to live with this idiot. This idiot who had the nerve to call me a player! A player! It’s true that I got around with a few men, maybe more than the average girl, but that did not make me a player! At least I knew their names, unlike him! And what mark on my neck was he talking about? I hadn’t had a chance to look at myself in the mirror but I’m sure Jaejoong didn’t bite me that hard. Or did he? And was that a hint of jealousy I saw in his eyes as he pointed that out? No, no way, this guy was such an arrogant ass, he couldn’t possibly be jealous about anything concerning me. God, why did he have to be so good looking? I hadn’t noticed it at first but now that I was sitting here and talking to him face to face, I could see his masculine jaw line, his perfectly sculpted nose, his beautiful grey-ish eyes. And the way he’d held onto my arm when I was about to leave was just so –Ugh, what am I thinking?! I can’t possibly live with him!He was right about one thing though, I probably wouldn’t find a place that’s this cheap and comes with furniture.“Great! Welcome home roomie!”Kill me now.
