They didn't know how long they swung on that creaky wooden bench swing. The old wood was splintering and poking them all over but they didn't even notice.

The rain lightened up but still fell from the clouds as the two continued to talk about themselves, the girls, Demons, magic, Puppeteers, all while Chrysalis still tugged on Mark's hoodie strings and their intertwined fingers were still clasped tightly together.

Jaebeom couldn't help but smile from the tree tops as Mark once again bursted out into an ugly high pitched cackle. Jinyoung sighed leaning his head on his knees while holding a stylish umbrella over his head even though Jaebeom had them incased in a magic bubble that kept them dry.

"They should really stop fooling around and get back to the alley, the killer won't come looking for them in the park"

"Oh Jinyoung lighten up. For someone who enjoys romance novels so much you're a real grouch when it's playing out in front of you."

"I am not a grouch"

"Yes you are, a jealous grouch"

"Are not"

"Are too"

"Not"

"Are"

Jinyoung wasn't a jealous grouch, he was a concerned grouch. He watched as Chrysalis had said something that made Mark bend his head down to kiss her forehead cutely and the looks they had on their faces as they looked at each other......this was a story of tragic romance if he ever saw one.

"Aren't you worried? Mad? Disgusted? We should stop this before it's too late."

"Oh it's too late. It's already been too late Jinyoung"

Chrysalis clapped like a seal as Mark told her the story of how Jackson tried to sneak into his house to prank him. While he was tip toeing to his room Rea had came out of nowhere, completely undetected and pinned him to the ground.

He cursed and yelled and thrashed about but she didn't lighten her grip until Xander tapped her shoulder and asked her politely to let him go.

"And what did she say?"

"No"

"That's so Rea"

"It really is. Xander had to knock on my door to fetch me so I could relieve her hahaha"

Mark's laughing stopped abruptly and he smiled and shook his head.

"What is it?"

"Nothing, it's just strange that my Dolls have their own special relationships with my friends."

"Are you jealous Master?"

"Yes."

"Well you're in luck, I don't have any special relationship with any of your friends~"

She gasped as Mark suddenly shifted, moving on top of her, his legs on either side of her body as he held her wrists pinned to the side of her head. The rain was rolling off his dark hair and landed on her face as his eyes flickered above her.

"Tell me....tell me you don't want a special relationship with any of them....."

"What?"

"Tell me.....TELL...ME...that I'm all you need"

She didn't know why but her breathing hitched in her throat. He's never looked at her this way, eyes blazing, he's never sounded this way before, voice straining, and her chest ached dully.

"Please"

Her eyes widened. His voice had changed, two different tones, his usual husky voice with something...animalistic...Demonic.

"You're all I need Master"

"Do you mean that?"

"I do"

"DON'T LIE TO ME!!"

He growled angrily and she mewed as his grip on her wrists tightened uncomfortably and she squirmed underneath him.

"Stop"

It was barely a whisper, it could barely be heard above the rain, yet it hit Mark like a freight train. His eyes stopped flickering, finally settling on dark and as if he just realized what was happening he jolted upright releasing her and stood from the bench horrified.

"I'm so sorry, I don't know what....why...."

He was genuinely confused, mortified, as he took off his hood and combed his fingers through his soaked hair. His inner Demon curled into a ball, hiding it's face in it's massive arms with it's curled horns sticking out.

Chrysalis sat up and rubbed her wrists with a sad expression on her face. She didn't want to be scared but she couldn't make herself smile and tell him it was alright.

The growling had sent terrified shivers down her spine, bruises were starting to appear on her wrists and she couldn't find the right words to stop her Master from mumbling to himself.

A single rock fell from the trees landing next to Mark's foot and that seemed to snap him out of his thoughts. He sighed deeply and picked up the stone and without looking at her he insisted they started heading home before it got too dark.

Chrysalis walked by him cautiously and once her back was to him Mark turned towards the trees and threw the stone with so much force there was a cracking sound that echoed through the air as it got lodged inside of a massive sturdy tree trunk.

Mark kept his eyes on her back as they walked back to the alley. He would give anything to activate her right now and know what she was thinking. That moment back there, not just the sudden aggression but, the talking, the laughing, the at peace feeling he had, he's never experienced it before.

His fists clenched in his pockets and his arms stiffened. He wanted to hug her right now. Very badly but he didn't think it was an appropriate time. Instead he walked a little faster so he was closer to her and he frowned as her body tensed.

His eyes glowed dimly and he whimpered......wait what?

"What the hell?"

Mark froze at the street corner, his face slightly illuminated by the green man on the crossing sign and as he continued to watch Chrysalis walk away realization hit him and knocked the air right out of him. This wasn't good. Mona would have his head. His friends would have his head. Oh this was bad. How did this happen?

He shook his head and jogged after her. It was just the heat of the moment. It was just his attraction to her as his Doll, he was just deprived of his other Dolls, he didn't actually fancy her...did he?

It was just drizzling now but back in the city the rain had only made the air smell worse than it already was. Dirty colored water was rushing to the storm drains along with trash and other things.

They had arrived at the back of the Italian restaurant just in time for closing and the employee in a white button down shirt and apron tossed the scraps into the back as he usually did and closed the door.

Chrysalis could still feel the heavy tension between her and her Master. She peered over her shoulder and he was still lost in thought with his eyes glued to the ground.

While he was distracted she looked around the area for a small wooden crate and she smiled when she found it. She carried it towards a small clearing then looked around for shattered pieces of plates that the restaurant had thrown out.

Finding two suitable large shards to use as plates she placed them on the crate and gathered the scraps and picked out the garbage and placed the food in the center of her arrangement.

"Come on Master"

She called softly but still sweetly as she tried to shake the fear she had felt only moments before. He looked up at her with confused eyes.

"Dinner is served~"

She tried her best at a fake European accent and bowed like a waiter and Mark chuckled and sat crossed legs at his side of the make shift table. He pulled out his plastic utensils from breakfast this morning and gave her the fork with a smirk.

"I saved this for you. It's a bit more civilized than using our hands right?"

His voice was still tense but he relaxed as Chrysalis smiled at him and nodded appreciatively. As she reached for the fork she held onto his hand a bit longer than necessary and they shared a small quiet moment as they gazed at each other.

Remembering himself Mark coughed and shook his hand free and started stabbing at the pile on his plate with his spoon.

"I think it'll be hard to eat pasta with a spoon Master"

"Seems so, just a second"

His lips curled over his teeth and his fangs elongated, sharp and gleaming. He gnawed on the end of the spoon until it cut cleanly and he had successfully carved a suitable fork and Chrys clapped.

"See Master you don't need magic"

He smirked teasingly and stuck his tongue out making her laugh and the two dug into the array of fresh scraps. She twirled the left over spaghetti Bolognese on her fork and lifted it up over her head to admire the very long noodles.

"This reminds me of that Disney movie Mari showed me, the one about the dogs...."

"Lady and the Tramp?"

"Yeah that one, how'd you know?"

"I've watched all of Mari's movies with her, I've read with Karin and played rather poorly with Talia. I've also eaten boxes upon boxes of pizza with Faun."

"And Rea?"

"I just watch her."

"That's kinda weird Master"

"Hahaha yeah it would be but Rea is....special. She doesn't need conversation or anything she just needs to be in someone's company and she's happy."

Chrysalis popped the spaghetti into her mouth and struggled to slurp up the lengthy pasta and her cheeks burned red as Mark grabbed onto the end of the noodles in between his teeth and began to eat it with her just like in the movie.

He placed his hands on either side of the crate to push himself up and their hearts hammered in their chests as his nose brushed against hers. Feeling shy Chrysalis cut the pasta before he could reach and she giggled at the noodles hanging from her Master's mouth.

Without breaking eye contact Mark sat back in his place and wiped his mouth.

"It's going to rain again Master"

"No it's not"

"Want to bet?"

"Is that a challenge Chrysalis?"

"Maybe?"
