Chapter Ninety-eight (1/2)
Monday comes by and everyone's schedule goes back to normal. Seungcheol and Hoshi leave to work early in the morning, Minghao drives the others to college, and Joshua walks to the cafe. Jeonghan, Vernon, and Jaemin stay home like usual. Construction continued as Dongwoo and Jinyoug come by nine o'clock.
"Okay. what's today's task?" Jaemin asked, putting his shoes on.
Jeonghan raised an eyebrow. "Oh? I forgot to ask Mingyu if there's anything he needs for this week's dinners." He said. "I'll text him, he'll get back to me in about thirty minutes." He looked at the clock, seeing that Mingyu wouldn't be on break for some time.
Jaemin let his shoes go and looked around. "So.."
"So just do what you want." Jeonghan shrugged. "I'm going out to see if they need any help with the construction." He said, walking away from the boy. "Why are you being cold?" Jaemin asked, holding Jeonghan's hand.
Jeonghan looked at the boy before the grip. "I'm not being cold," Jeonghan said, "what do you want me to say to you, huh?" He asked, taking his hand back.
Jaemin held his hips. "You're obviously upset," He said, "what did I say to make you mad?" He asked.
"Nothing," Jeonghan put his hands up, "there's nothing wrong, okay? I'm just not in the mood to bother you right now. Enjoy it." He said, leaving the house. Jaemin held his forehead. "Seriously.. what is he upset about..?" He muttered to himself.
Meanwhile, Seungkwan walks into the theater. He bowed to the others and made his way to his teacher's office. "You wanted to see me, Sir?" He asked, sitting down in front of the man. "That's right," Sungmin, the teacher, said, "I wanted to discuss the ratings for Friday's show." He said, his smile looking youthful. Seungkwan smiled and put his hands together. "What did you think of it?" He asked. "The drama itself was relatively dark," Sungmin said with his eyes going to the side, "however, I think the way you made the ending brighter was what the viewers liked the most." He returned his gaze to Seungkwan. "I was actually thinking of another drama to start.." Seungkwan said. "If you'd be interested to hear the idea." He continued, keeping an enthusiastic smile. Sungmin clapped once. "That would be wonderful," He said, "the viewers really liked Jongho's singing. Could I request that Woozi makes a music for this drama too?" Seungkwan nervously plays with his nails. "I would have to ask Woozi-hyung first," He said, "and of course, I'd have to ask Jongho if he would want to sing for another drama.." He included. "I understand, take as much time as you need." Sungmin said. "You're really doing well, I'm proud of you." Seungkwan bowed. "Thank you, Mr. Lee.." Seungkwan stood up. "May I be excused to visit the music class?" He asked. "Sure thing, the others are working on a little bit for a school ad." Sungmin gave permission. "Be back in thirty minutes, please." He requested. Seungkwan nodded. "Right, I will be." He bowed before leaving Seungkwan's office.
He first made his way to Woozi's class. The students there were practicing their songs one at a time. Seungkwan saw that Woozi was waiting his turn for the piano. "Hyung," He whispered, getting the shorter's attention, "could I talk to you in the hall?" He requested. Woozi looked the teacher's way and saw she gave a pass to him. He stood up and walked out of the classroom with Seungkwan. "What's up?" He asked. "Sungmin really wants you to make songs for the next drama," Seungkwan said, "I wanted to ask if you could do it before asking Jongho if he could sing for it." He included. Woozi raised an eyebrow. "Jongho?" He asked. "Yeah.. seems like a lot of students liked his vocals." Seungkwan rubbed his neck. Woozi nodded. "I'll see what I can do." He agreed. "Get me the manuscript and I'll try to make a few songs for the play." He requested before going back into the classroom. Seungkwan breathed in and out. "Okay.. time to disrupt another class.." He walked further down the hall.
He heard the sounds of students practicing their pitches and tones. "Higher," Solji said to Seokmin, "and stronger. You must keep a strong voice." She said. "I need some more water first." Seokmin chuckled as he turned around. "Seungkwan?" He saw the boy. "Where's Jongho?" Seungkwan asked, looking around. Kyuhyun scratched his neck. "Jongho hasn't come in yet today. His classes don't start for another hour." He answered. Seungkwan nodded. "I see.. could you ask him to come to the theater during lunch break?" He bowed to the teacher. "Sure." Kyuhyun agreed.
Seungkwan left the class to go back to the theater.
Wonwoo raised an eyebrow as he looked at the clock. "Seems like my new student is late.." He muttered as he tapped his fingers on the table.
"Should I start charging late fees?" He asked aloud as he sat back in his chair. The door opened not too long later, revealing the tall girl he met yesterday. "Hello there, Irene." Wonwoo waved. "I'm sorry I'm late," She said, sitting down in front of her, "my brother halted me getting ready this morning." She gave her excuse as she took out her books. Wonwoo hummed. "That's none of my business," He said, knowing fully well that he doesn't need to get into his student's family affairs, "did you complete your homework for statistics class?" He asked. "I did." She replied. "Good, now how is math coming along?" He asked. She pouted. "I still don't know how to solve these systems.." She said, showing her incomplete work. Wonwoo looked at the work she had done. "You're on the right track. If you were to have continued from here, you would have gotten your two answers." He pointed out. "Complete the equations for me." He tasked. "Could.. you show me another example?" She asked.
Wonwoo smiled. "You know how to do this," He stated, "just keep going with the idea you had." He encouraged. "Okay.." She picked her pencil up.
