Chapter Twenty-nine (1/2)
Jeonghan looks around at all of the kids, eyeing each one at a time. They all look up at him and Seungcheol as the parents stand by the front door with suitcases in their hands. "Joshua is in charge, so I want you all to listen to him." Jeonghan said, looking at the boys' playful smiles. "No running around outside unless Joshua is watching you; no coloring on the walls unless you clean them; and no going to bed super late. I want you all to be awake when we get home at noon tomorrow." The children reluctantly agreed before the parents left. They leave in Seungcheol's car and notify Seungcheol's parents just in case things go horribly while they're gone. "This is the first time we're leaving them overnight.." Jeonghan furrowed his eyebrows. "We could reschedule," Seungcheol started, "are you not confident that the kids will behave?" He asked, pulling out of their property.
Jeonghan shook his head. "I don't know.. I guess I'm just overreacting like usual.." He held his forehead while looking out of the window. "Josh is a responsible kid, but I can't help but think about them so much."
Seungcheol hummed and watched the road. "I know the feeling," He started, "every time I leave to work I feel that. I know you'll take care of them, but I can't help but send a few texts to make sure everything is okay." He said. "So that's why I got Josh a phone."
Jeonghan tore his eyes from the scenery to look at Seungcheol. "When was this?" He asked. "Only yesterday. I told him to only accept calls from us and my parents. Also that he's only to text us." He answered. "It's a throw away phone, so it wasn't expensive and it won't be permanent. Just something for over the weekend." He assured while continuing driving.
Jeonghan nodded. "I forgot to even think about him communicating.. Maybe we should give some of the older kids phones. You know, just in case the teachers and other students can't call us." He held his chin.
"I was thinking that too. Josh, Jun, and Hoshi seem to take things like this seriously, so it would be a good thing to get them it in case of an emergency." He replied. "Of course teach them communication safety and not give them the internet just get." He laughed.
Jeonghan laughed along. "Yep, don't need that." He scratched his head. "Maybe on our way home tomorrow we can go to the phone store and see what they have to offer." He suggested."Sounds good to me." Seungcheol agreed. "This is our exit, we'll be at your parent's place in thirty minutes." He informed. Jeonghan sat back in his chair and put his hand on Seungcheol's thigh. Being that the traffic is done being hectic, Seungcheol moved his right hand to hold Jeonghan's hand. "You're cold.." Seungcheol muttered, watching the road while adjusting Jeonghan's heater perfectly. He then moved his hand back to Jeonghan's hand.
The younger smiled at the warmth. "Next week makes our anniversary, you know.." He brought up. "I wish I could get you a good gift, but I don't know what to give you.." Jeonghan said with a pout. "I'm content with you being with me still and the kids being happy." Seungcheol said honestly. "I never thought we would last this long together, honestly."
"What do you mean?" Jeonghan asked, watching the vehicles passing by.
Seungcheol sighed. "Although it was only one other person, I hadn't had the best time with dating." He said, thumbing the younger's knuckles. "She basically used me to make her boyfriend jealous." He continued.
"I didn't know if you were going to do the same thing. If Minhyuk was someone you wanted to-"
