Chapter Twenty-two (1/1)
Seungcheol sneaked into the house and looked around. He nodded and went to the kitchen immediately. He took out a pot and went into the pantry. His shoulders went down when he noticed they only have instant noodles. He breathed in and out before taking the packs of noodles. He set water in the pot for a future boil and went into the freezer. He looked around while pursing his lips. One pack of beef and a few bags of chicken. He nodded and took both things out. He put the meat in hot water before putting the chicken on a baking pan. Sticking it in the oven, he sets the timer. He then plugs the rice cooker in. Running to the cabinets, he put the dishes out for all of the kids, Jeonghan, and himself. He cracked his neck and looked at the time. Fifteen minutes passed by. Half of his time has been eaten up. He turned on the burner for the pot and then took the meat out of the water. Taking out a separate frying pan, he started up on the meat, seasoning it as he let it fly around in the pan. With the water boiling, he turned the burner lower on the meat and put the noodles in the pot. "Kimchi.." He looked around and went to the pantry. "Hoshi likes kimchi.." He said aloud before going back to the meat. Wiping his forehead carefully, he turned the burner for the noodles lower. And then his heart dropped. The front door opened. "Who's in here?" He heard Jeonghan's strong voice, "stay back." Seungcheol heard him whisper. Seungcheol opened the kitchen door and waved. "Just me." He said. Jeonghan let out a relieved sigh and let the kids run to Seungcheol. "What am I smelling?" He asked as he walked to the kitchen. He looked at the table and then the oven where there's food cooking. Jeonghan stood there in confusion, watching the steam coming from the pot and pan. "Go wash up, kids. Dinner will be done soon." He said, kissing each boy one-by-one. The kids vanished and Seungcheol stood up properly. "Welcome back home, Love." Seungcheol said, putting an arm around Jeonghan. The younger blushed as they walked up to the stove top. He looked at the food that was being prepared before smelling the chicken in the oven. "What's all of this, Cheol?" He asked. Seungcheol shrugged, stirring the meat while keeping his arm around Jeonghan's waist. Jeonghan blushes as their sides are pushed together and his hip is gently held. He put his arm around Seungcheol to get closer and kissed the older's cheek. "It's just about done," Seungcheol commented after a minute or two like this, "I know that Seokmin can't have this, but I'll make his formula right after serving them." Jeonghan nodded. "I'll make the formula, and Woozi can only have the rice. The other things are a bit spicy." He said, reaching for the bottle in the cabinet. Seungcheol watched the younger prepare the food. It's like it came second nature to Jeonghan. He didn't have to measure out anything to know it was the right amount. "I found out about Seokmin today," He whispered, "he's a dove baby." "Dove?" Seungcheol looked back to see the kids not there yet. Jeonghan nodded. "I'm so sorry for ignoring you all that time," He said, putting a hand on Seungcheol's shoulder, "I can't believe I acted like that." Seungcheol shook his head. "Everything's fine now. You're not ignoring me anymore, the kids are happy, and we have Seokmin." He said with a big smile. "If we got Seokmin because we made up, then I'm happy we learned. I'm happy that we have Woozi and Seokmin. "I didn't want to get Woozi like that, but it taught us a valuable lesson. And I promise I'll never put my emotions into something that's supposed to be just love." He said, holding Jeonghan's hand. Jeonghan blushed and kissed Seungcheol's lips briefly. "I love you.." He muttered. "I love you too.." He held Jeonghan's waist. "I have something I want to talk to you about tonight." Jeonghan nodded and backed up a bit when the kids started coming in. "Talk to me all night, I'm all ears." He whispered before walking to the table, helping Seokmin into the high chair. The family sits together for the meal. The food is laid across the whole table. The table mostly talked about school and how work was going. Seungcheol left out the part about Japan, knowing fully well it would be best to talk to the younger in private about it before talking to the kids about it. And that time came. The children were all put to bed and the showers have been taken. Laying down in their bed together, Jeonghan puts his face against his husband's chest. "What did you want to talk about?" He muttered, feeling the sleepiness come to him. Seungcheol stroked Jeonghan's hair. "If you're too tired-" "Go ahead," Jeonghan permitted, "I'm awake." Seungcheol bit his lip for a moment and exhaled inaudibly. "My boss was supposed to go to Japan next month, but it's his anniversary next month." He started. "He asked me if I could go in his stead for the week." Jeonghan opened his eyes and sat up a bit to look in Seungcheol's eyes. "A business trip? Way to go, Cheol. That's really big stuff right there." He said with a big smile. "You're happy about it?" Seungcheol asked. "Of course, why wouldn't I be? You're making your boss trust you enough to do business meetings for him." He sat up all the way.
Seungcheol raised an eyebrow. "But I'll be gone for a week.." Jeonghan nodded and laid back down. "Cheol.. It pains me to have you be at work most of the week. It really makes me long for you and our nights together." He started. "But I can't be selfish. I can't stop you from doing work." He said seriously. "I'm going to miss you, the kids are going to miss you, yes definitely. But.. If this is what you need to do, then how could I stop it?" He asked. "You just better be safe while being away from us. That's all I ask." Seungcheol gave a small smile. "Jeonghan.. I have one more thing to tell you." "What is it?" "I kinda.. asked my boss if I could take you to Japan." He admitted. "Just you and me instead of me and my secretary. I thought it would be relaxing to go around the town after the meetings." Jeonghan scratched his neck. "Me? I have permission to be in your important meetings?" He asked with disbelief. Seungcheol nodded. "Dongwan said I could bring you as long as you don't sell information." He said with a smirk. "Do you plan on doing that? Huh?" Jeonghan started giggling when Seungcheol started poking and tickling him. "Cheol!" He laughed until Seungcheol was on top of him. He put his arms around Seungcheol's neck. "But what about the kids?" He asked with his head tilted. "We have a month, I'll ask if my parents would be okay coming here for the week." Seungcheol replied. "And if not?" Jeonghan raised an eyebrow. Seungcheol hummed. "There's always Leeteuk, he was telling me how much he wants to meet the kids." He said, looking at Jeonghan's big eyes. "Oh, that could be interesting.. Sure. He's back up one." He winked. "Back-up two is Jinyoung, then Suho." Seungcheol laughed when Jeonghan put their lips together again. Jeonghan pulled the older closer and giggled when Seungcheol kissed up his neck. "Japan~" He envisioned. "It was my dream to move to Japan." He said with a dreamy tone. "Why's that?" Seungcheol pulled back and smiled at the younger's bright expression. "One, it was away from my mom. Two.. I don't know. I've always found it so beautiful. I took Japanese in school for my foreign language credit." He included. Seungcheol leaned down and put their lips together briefly. "Then I'll make sure we have lots of fun after the meetings." He promised. "Just being there is great enough," Jeonghan said honestly, "I can't wait." He pushed the older into a cuddling position. Seungcheol laughed, rubbing circles around Jeonghan's back. "You gave me dinner and a vacation," Jeonghan started, "thank you so much." "And you accepted both presents, I'm grateful too." He whispered, pulling them closer. "I love you," They said together, "good night." *** Jeonghan looked at the bright sky as they walked out of the airport. He widened his eyes and mouth as he took in the big, city buildings and lights. He just looked at everything as Seungcheol walked them to their rental vehicle. He admired the ponds and flowers around while Seungcheol drove. He opened the window and let the wind rush through his hair. "It's so beautiful!" He said, watching the road."My boss said he got us a room in one of the tallest hotel buildings," Seungcheol said, "I hope you'll like the view."
Jeonghan turned to Seungcheol. "If it's overlooking all of these other buildings and decorations, I'll love it." He assured.
Seungcheol laughed and put on his turn signal. Pretty soon they were in the parking lot for the hotel. The two walk from the vehicle to the lobby with their suitcases rolling with them. While Jeonghan was looking at the decorations, Seungcheol was handed the room cards.
They go to the elevator and go to the floor of their room. It was the top floor and the last on down the hall. Seungcheol opened the door and was instantly speechless. The room had a large area for a table and small kitchen. There were two big windows looking down at the city and a big bed resting against the opposite wall of the kitchen.
"Cheol.." Jeonghan walked in further. His attention was then drawn to the bathroom. A tub with jets is at the center with a small room for a toilet and a shower across the way. "It's so beautiful.."
Seungcheol nodded with an open mouth. "Luxury.."
"It's been forever since I've had a bath.. Mom used to take me to the spa when track made my muscles stiff." He said, feeling the smooth material of the tub.
"A good memory then?" Seungcheol asked as he checked out the sink.Jeonghan hummed. "Some of the best memories," He said with a big smile, "we would eat cucumbers and tell each other how the week had gone." He stated.
"Let's have a bath after we come back from the meeting then." Seungcheol insisted. The couple set their luggage down and headed over to the company building. The lobby is large and the elevator is made of glass. Jeonghan looks out of the elevator and opens his mouth in awe as he watches the city going eleven floors high. He walks out of the elevator with the adviser and looks around the room. White walls and clean carpet were along to the meeting room. "You're my secretary, and you already know that we're getting ready for the merge." Seungcheol stopped in front of the door. "I don't mind if you address me as Seungcheol, it is my name after all. That and we're married." He winked. Jeonghan chuckled. "Let's keep this formal. No terms of endearment while we're here. We're here for business and business only. After that, we can love on each other through the city and in the hotel." He winked. Seungcheol nodded and opened the door. Ten men were present at the table and ten men they would see each day for a week while finalizing ideas and payments. Jeonghan watched Seungcheol conduct the meetings and handed out papers when he was tasked. He got the men coffee and went to the lobby to get them snacks and other things. Once the meeting was over, the men and married couple were free to talk in the room. That's when Jeonghan heard the men speaking in Japanese. "This deal is really good." One of them said. "I know, oh, but look at Seungcheol's secretary though." Another one said, making the trio look Jeonghan's way. The Korean male pretended to not know what they were saying, but looked over coincidentally. The men turn back to each other and smirk. "I bet Seungcheol would like to pounce on that." Another one said. "Who wouldn't? Just think about how his screams would be." The first one laughed. Jeonghan rolled his eyes and looked out the windows with Seungcheol. "Thanks for helping me with the meeting, Love." He whispered to Jeonghan. "I enjoyed it." Jeonghan said. "Hey, I see a ramyun shop down there. We should check it out." He pointed at one of the buildings. "You want to eat Korean in Japan?" Seungcheol laughed. Jeonghan shrugged. "Why not? They have it here." He said, turning back to the table and rounding up all of the papers from Seungcheol's spot at the desk. "Okay, let's go." Seungcheol agreed and walked out of the meeting room with Jeonghan. The two make it out of the building and walk across the way to the Korean restaurant. Ordering ramyun and other familiarities, they clink their water glasses and eat up. "Maybe tomorrow we can head over to the park." Seungcheol suggested. "The cherry blossom trees are blooming right now." Jeonghan smiled and swallowed his food. "That would be so great. They're even beautiful at night." He imagined. "Can we take a walk there tomorrow?" He asked. Seungcheol laughed and held Jeonghan's hand from across the table. "Of course, that's what I was leading up to." He said. Jeonghan blushed and looked down. "Sorry.. this trip is just making me excited, despite the work." He laughed a little. Seungcheol put his chopsticks down. "I was hoping for that, Han." He said softly. "You and me in Japan.." He whispered, thumbing Jeonghan's knuckles. They get to the hotel and take that bath they wanted. The jets are on a low setting, the water is warm, and the soap smells wonderful. Jeonghan puts himself in Seungcheol's arms and closes his eyes. "Seokmin's so attached to Woozi." He commented. "He can't get off of the older boy." He laughed. Seungcheol stroked Jeonghan's hair and thought about the two hugging and kissing like they do. Or at least Seokmin tries but Woozi seems to hate it. "They're still cribbed together.." He commented. "Seokmin cries whenever I take Woozi out. I have to keep him in." Jeonghan chuckled, looking at his fingers. "We should rinse off." He noticed his skin getting wrinkly. The two rinse the soap off and dry up. "Love," Seungcheol started while holding Jeonghan's hips, "should we finish the night?" He said with a playful smile as he walked the other naked male backward. Jeonghan giggled and let Seungcheol lay them down and hide them in the blanket. He felt Seungcheol's body move across his as their lips played with each other. "Cheol~" He brought the other closer as Seungcheol's legs rub together with Jeonghan's legs, making their hips rub together and rising members touch.
Dinner with the family was a success as well as day one in Japan.
