“Haera, catch!” A boy said as he throw a pillow towards Haera’s direction. The said girl who was reading a book on the comfortable sofa turn her head around and was met with the soft pillow right in her face. The boy who threw it laughed so hard that it only make Haera’s passion for revenge getting bigger. Haera grabbed the same pillow and was about throw it back at the boy who threw it at her, but he already ran away.“Yah! You’re so dead when I get you in my hands!” Haera said, shouting a little so the boy who already ran away towards the dining room would hear her.“Catch me if you can~!!” The boy said playfully as he grinned from ear to ear. Haera also grinned from ear to ear and run around the dining room table to get to him. But he fastly ran again, causing them to ran on a rectangle around the dining room. Haera was getting more and more tired, but she still hadn’t manage to do her revenge. The said girl stopped to catch her breath.“Oh, you’re tired already?” The boy teased her as he raised his eyebrow playfully.“Just give me the pillow if you can’t throw it back on my face.” He added in a teasing manner.“Oh, don’t push your luck. I’m so going to get you.” Haera said, smirking and continued on chasing him. This time Haera succeded on catching him, but he also managed on escaping from her grasp. Frustrated, Haera threw the pillow so hard, not caring whether it hit his face or no and sat on the floor. The boy turned around when he felt something soft against the back of his head. Haera threw the pillow at him. He grabbed the pillow that already landed on the floor and walked towards Haera and stopped right infront of her.“You give up already?” He decided that another teasing would be okay. Haera didn’t answer. She only stared blankly at the cartoon on his socks.“Why are you staring at my foot? Oh, did you find the white flag there?” The boy said in a playful tone.Haera merely chuckled. She stood up and looked at his oh-i-win-again face. “Whatever.” Haera said and walked back to the living room. She took a seat and continued her reading that was paused because of the sudden pillow war. The boy also took a seat right next to her. He put his hand around her waist, and his head on her shoulder. He tried to also read the book that she was reading, but failed.“What are you reading? Why is it all words, no pictures or else?”Haera chuckled softly at his sudden question, “If you want to know, why don’t you try to read it.”“Nah, I don’t feel like reading.” He said as he hugged Haera from the side and rested his head comfortably on her shoulder.Seconds passed by, and the boy couldn’t help it anymore. He couldn’t just seat there watching her reading. He was so damn bored. He then started poking on Haera’s cheek.“What are you doing?” Haera asked, her gaze never left the book she was reading.“I’m bored.” Haera kept on reading, not giving a respond to what he was saying.“Yah, I said I’m bored.” The boy said one more time trying to get the girl’s respond. But she remained the same. Silent. And as soon as his hands left her waist, Haera regretted that she didn’t respond to him earlier.“I’m hungry.” Said the boy, leaving Haera alone on the living room. Actually, he wasn’t hungry at all. He just wanted to make Haera respond to him by leaving her and pretend that he’s mad. And unfortunately, it didn’t work at all.“I thought you already ate before?” Haera said, once again with her eyes still lingering on the book she was reading.Annoyed, the boy left and head straight to the kitchen without saying anything. Haera smirked in triumph, happy to know that his plan wasn’t working at all. Soon, an hour passed. And the boy hadn’t returned from the kitchen. Haera stopped reading to rest her eyes for a minute. She then realized that he hadn’t return from the kitchen. Haera started to wonder what is he doing at the kitchen that he hadn’t comeback until now. Curious, Haera got up and checked the kitchen only to find that there was no one in there. She went upstairs to check on his room, but he was not in there either. Haera then checked the whole house only to find it to be empty. No one was in the house. Haera thought she must be too immersed on her reading that she didn’t realize that everyone left the house. Including him. How could he left without telling her? She then decided to just go back home. When Haera walked to the sofa to take back her book, she found a white envelope laying on top of the coffe table right infront of the sofa. Weird. I don’t remember seing it here before.Haera took the envelope and found her name on the front part of the envelope, written with a very familiar handwriting. His handwriting. Haera asked herself was she really do that immersed on her reading that she didn’t even realize he wrote a letter to her? But before Haera could open the envelope, suddenly, the room darked out. The whole house darked out. Everything turned dark. Black. Haera couldn’t see a thing. She then tried to reach her handphone that was on the sofa, together with her book, but her hands didn’t reacha anything. Haera was sure that the sofa was just right infront of her. She bent down, and reached out to the sofa, but her hands only met with the cold air. There was nothing infront of her. She turned around, trying to reach for the coffee table, but there was also nothing. Suddenly, a huge screen showed up not far from Haera. It was like a television, but in a really big size. And the weird part was, it was all around the room. Haera stood up and found herself surrounded by the huge screen. Before Haera could think about where she is, the screen played. It was a breaking news. Haera turn her body around and the screen behind her was also playing the same breaking news. All of the screen that was surrounding her played the same breaking news. Haera was scared, panicked. She didn’t know what was happening, and where is she. A few minutes before she remembered standing inside his house, but now she didn’t know where is she. Haera got even more scared when she heard that the breaking news was about an airplane accident. What is…. Going on…?“22 passengers are saved. But, unfortunately the other 23 passengers passed away.”Haera’s eyes widened when she found his name was written on the screen. His name was included on the 23 passengers. She panicked. Haera tried her best to hold back her tears, because she knew it wasn’t him. Yet, it felt like it was really him. But, it wouldn’t be him, right? He was here hugging her and laying his head on her shoulder. But before Haera could process anything, a tear already escaped from her eye. Right when her tear fallen from her eye, all of the screen turned off and it was back to black again. And all of a sudden it was back to his house again. Haera was standing right infront of the sofa. Her eyes lit up instantly when it spotted him standing a few steps from her. Haera smiled in relief knowing that he was still here. She walked to him and was about to hug him, but then he faded away. He faded away into the thin cold air just like that.“Don’t play tricks with me, Sungjae!” Haera said desperately as another tear escaped from her eyes. Another tear followed, and then it goes on.“I’m not playing tricks with you.” A voice said and Haera instantly turn her body around to find him standing a few steps from her. He was so close, yet she couldn’t reach him.“Then what was that? What was that all about? What was the breaking news for? Why did you fade away just like that when I wanted to hug you? Why?” Haera said as tears keep flowing down from her eyes.Soon Haera could hear indistinct conversation around her even though there was no one around her. Haera could catch a word or two from what the people were talking about.“Poor Haera. I wish she could stay strong.”“Losing someone you love is hard.”“I hope he could rest in peace.”Haera’s eyes widened when she heard those conversations. Haera covered her ears with her hands, and shut her eyes tight. “No, no, no, No!!! Sungjae is still here with me!!” She said as she kept on shaking her head.Haera opened her eyes to find him standing right infront of her. He was smiling. But there was so many things hidden beneath that smile. “Please tell me all of this is only a dream.” Haera whispered softly. He smiled again. “I’m sorry. You have to face the reality. I love you so much, but I can’t be with you forever. I’m sure you’ll find someone who is better enough to replace me. I-““No, no! Don’t say things like that! No, you’re lying! You’re lying…” Haera shouted desperately as tears kept on falling from her eyes and her legs weakened because she couldn’t take feelings of scared being left alone that was eating her. Haera kept on crying as she finally fall down to the ground.“Haera, please, don’t cry.”“How do you expect me not to cry when you’re saying things like that?!” Haera shouted at him with a look of disbelief.“Haera,” He tried to calm her down with his softened voice.“I’m sorry I can’t be with you again. But remember that I will always love you.”“But you can’t love me like how I will always love you.” He added, smiling ever so softly to her that it touched her heart and she felt like crying her heart out.“Why?”“You just can’t. And promise me…”“You have to live a better life without me. Don’t be sad that I’m not with you anymore. Be happy that I was with you before. Be happy, for me. Don’t be like this forever. I want you to be happy.” Before Haera could even reply, he started to fade away, slowly.“No! No, please, don’t leave me, please!”   “No!” Haera gasped. She was breathing heavily, and she could feel her cheeks were wet. She scanned the room, trying to find that particular person, but she couldn’t. There was only her. And she was inside her room. In her house, not in his house. She was on her own bed, not sitting on the ground. It took minutes for her to realize that it was all only a dream. But the crying wasn’t. She touched her cheeks and she could feel it was still wet. She looked down at her pillow, and it was soaked wet. Indeed, she was crying in her sleep. It was all only a dream, but she did cried. It was only a dream, yet at the same time it felt so real to her. It felt so real that she was almost happy that she was with him, playing happily like nothing happened. She almost felt happy. The so heart-breaking truth hit her when she reminded herself that it was only a dream. How much she wished that him leaving her was only a dream. How much she wished that she could have at least tell him she’ll try her best to fulfill what he wanted her to do, even though she knew that it’ll be a hard task to be done. Haera checked the clock on her handphone. It was already 9.45 p.m. She then remembered falling asleep a few hours ago after taking a shower. Haera laid back at her bed, and she stared at the ceiling above her. The memory of her dream was still crystal clear on her head that she found herself crying again. She wiped her tears away and took a deep breath. She couldn’t be like this forever. He was right. Checking back the clock on her handphone, Haera got up from the bed, grabbed her cardigan, wallet, handphone, camera’s bag and walked downstairs. Judging by the light that wasn’t turned on, her mother must be not home yet. She’s must be working overtime, again. Haera turned on the lights, lock the door and left the house.   this is probably the most bad writing i've ever done x_x sorry, i'm still trying to improve my writing skills;_; and bytheway, i'm really really sorry if you guys waited too long for an update.
