With A Little Help From M (1/1)
LUNA "How about that one?" Sulli asked for the thousandth time pointing at a case of champagne in the wine section at a grocery. I've been getting tired of trying to explain to her that the party should be as "minor friendly" as possible. Tomorrow's the freshmen acquaintance party at Cherry Lace, the local bar that the homeowners association built for the youngsters to hangout. It's a very wholesome club that only serves ice cream desserts plus soda and other carbonated drinks for beverages. Their Cherry Coke float is to die for. Sulli's fave on the other hand is the Pepsi blueberry float. Blech!"Sulli, you're starting to get on my nerves. This party isn't for us...for you, especially. If you want to get drunk, you can always crash The Strobe. I cannot risk the school's rep, well, my rep for a very stupid decision. We shouldn't be giving alcoholic beverages to minors," I said dryly while pushing my cart around searching for more stuff that I might need for the party. Sulli pursed her lips and went a few steps ahead. Victoria, who was pushing a separate cart, pulled off a half-smile."You can always settle for non alcoholic sparkling wine or punch," she sweetly suggested. Why hadn't I thought of that before?I didn't need to ask. My best friends understood anyway. I'm not into parties at all. I only go to the ones that the student council organizes, like the frosh party tomorrow. Heck I haven't been to The Strobe even though I'm of legal age. I just had really bad luck yesterday at the student council meeting when our president delegated tasks for the party. Poor little me got stuck with buying food and decorations for the place. Sadly, venue reservations for the Cherry Lace is only inclusive of electricity and the maintenance of the venue. No food and drinks but the bartender will be there for anyone who likes to buy outside the stuff we were gonna prepare FOR FREE. Sigh I don't blame them. I'm undeniably obsessed with their banana split."Okay then," I nodded and gestured at Sulli who has already found where the sparkling drinks are.
"You guys will be there tomorrow, right? Or..""I don't know," Sulli hesitated after putting the wine case on Victoria's cart. Mine was getting full and getting hard to move around.
"No offense Looney bear, but frosh parties are like on a scale of one to ten, they're at the second level of party awesomeness. I won't be able to witness people grinding, throwing up...all those glorious views you see at a party on the seventh level and higher.""Ew!" I muttered."Are you sure about that?" Victoria asked Sulli almost ignoring my reaction.
"Baekhyun's going to be there. Just saying.""Omigosh omigosh!" Sulli squealed at the sound of the boy's name.I cringed in disgust.Ugh! Byun freakin' Baekhyun. More like Byun freakin' tae. Why is he going to be at--Once again, I didn't have to ask. He might have charmed somebody in the student council and earned himself a pass. I wonder who he screwed this time. Tsk tsk.Everything has already been paid and put into paper bags. The three of us get into my gray Ford Focus. Victoria and Sulli are still going crazy over Baekhyun. Why, world? Why? I thought I had decent best friends.Sulli has been my best friend since forever and even though she took the path of popularity as soon as we stepped into high school, she has never changed and has decided to stay friends with me. The best thing I could give her is a ride home every time she goes late from cheer leading practice. Despite her being the captain, she is not snooty, slutty, dumb..none of that and I'm very proud of her.Among the three of us, it's Victoria who struggles the most with acads. Sulli and I met her while we were watching a basketball game in school. She was sitting alone so we sat down beside her, chatted, and the rest is history."You guys can stop talking about that bastard now," I announced as I parked my car to the curb in front of my house."You can all get us passes, right?" Victoria asked, almost pleaded. I handed the two of them guest passes and they both jumped and squealed like sissies."Yeah yeah I know I'm awesome. I'll see y'all tomorrow."
