A girl and her family live on a beach/coast line isolated from the rest of the world. The only people other than her parents and grandma she ever sees are the people coming to collect the fish that her dad catches. One day her grandma gives her 12 patchwork dolls, saying that the magic dolls will now protect her. When her grandma passes away and her father dies in an accident, her mother decides to move to the city (Seoul), there she has to deal a whole new world filled with new people and surviving the school life. When people start bulling the quiet and shy girl, bad things happen to them, and only then does she realise that these dolls may well and truly be magical.
