Breakeven
It’s a story about a group of popular kids that go on a crazy adventure reliving former glories and past mistakes; a journey of self-discovery, finding love, a stronger friendship and a step closer to their dreams and goals. Inspired by The Scripts Breakeven. :) Foreword Like any long-standing unit of people, schools have class system. A typical high school consists of three levels: upper crust, crust, and lower crust. The UPPER CRUST as depicted in teeny-bopper films are the popular kids which either fall into the jock or cheerleader category. They are usually beauty without brains; kids that are able to attend any party or event they wish to on account of their popularity. They are basically admired for their oozing good-looks and charms. In movies they are portrayed as having very primitive sleeping-with-each-other nature and only sticking-to-their-kind, thus anything foreign they either reject or eat alive. Also, this is the class where most high school bullies and plastics (mean girls) belong. Crossing their paths would mean isolation and torture not only from their kind, but also the whole school. The CRUST aka the multi-tasking students; they are composed of the necessary people, but necessary in a way that they are those who take part in the school activities and run the student body government. Whether or not you like them doesn’t make any difference because they are highly focused and distracted in their own world. Examples of these are teacher’s pets, drama, glee, and band geeks. These kids are overly rated due to their sense of responsibility and are less admired and are usually hated more. Consistently in high school chick-flicks, they are often secretly envied by the UPPER CRUST. Crossing their paths would mean academic punishment from faculty rather than the student body. The LOWER CRUST are the group of lost and tortured souls. They are the secretly talented kids and nerds. Students from this category are the ones that mostly end up making something of their lives. However, they are at the bottom of the class; almost underground. They are bullied without any given reason. They accomplish great things, but they never get the credit or are always underrated. Making these kids angry are way scarier because they fight quietly. Like how a crocodile stalks and waits for it’s pray; they wait for the right moment when you turn your back versus a jock that pounces on its pray the moment they see it. In fact they might be doing it right now. [Reference: unencyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/High_school_kids#cream_of_the_upper_crust] But it’s the 21st century after all, does this hierarchy still exists? Unfortunately, it does. But the scary thing is two additional layers have been added; sandwiching the initial layers. New hierarchy:CREAM OF THE UPPER CRUSTUPPER CRUSTCRUSTLOWER CRUSTPIE-PAN GREASE Like technology, everything has a chance for evolution. The two new layers emerged from the existing ones. The PIE-PAN GREASE consists of the trouble-makers; the bottom of the bottom which already belong to the underground. They devolve (antonym of evolution) from any layer. They are druggies, gangsters, vamps, gothic and emos. They are never invited to parties but crash it anyway. It is very rare that they become something important when they grow up; unless they rise above their influence and reach for the stars. The CREAM OF THE UPPER CRUST are the main examples of the evolutionary development aka the triple As (Athletics, Academics and Arts). They are the new breed of upper crusts with a combination of characteristics of the crust. They are the total package; beauty, talent and brains. They are athletically-skilled and artistically talented. Most of them come of families who can afford. What boosts them on top are their sociable attitudes or class-clown like attributes which makes everyone love them. Crossing their paths would be the equivalent of a death-sentence in the outside world. You will not only turn the faculty and student body against you, but also their powerful families. But not to exaggerate, it’d probably be best to just leave town and get a new identity when you go against them. The future of these kids is bright because they were built and raised up to be the best at their fields. But these are after all just basically divisions. The hierarchy is just your typical high school stereotypes. What kids do to break away from their classes are up to them. It just depends on how they can break even in those years of school. Those at the bottom have the opportunity to rise up, but what about those at the top? Those kids only have until high school, once it’s over what will they have left? ----------------------------------- Sup everyone? :D I know I havent even completed one existing fic yet but I just couldnt help but post this one already. :DD The ideas of the story just keeps popping up so I had no choice but to write type this one first. Believe me, if I dont Id probably forget them (based on prev experiences on my other fics). After I did the poster I just had to post the story and its foreword. :DDBUT, like I said I wont be doing anything else until I finish Walking on Water and We Belong Together.
