A forbidden love - This is a rewrite version of my fanfic that I wrote back in 2009 and released in a fan forum. I wanted to revise this story, clean it up, and release it under a new title, especially with the rise of many popular Korean dramas about the historical times currently airing. Also, I wanted to add my new rookie biases into it :] The inspiration of this fanfic comes from the many historical Korean dramas I have watched.This fic will be split into 3 parts, each having several chapters: 1. History 2. Forbidden 3. Captivity ForewordHistorical Background(This gets pretty boring, and its not necessary to know this for the fic, so you can go straight to Chapter 1 if youd like. However, I tried to make this fic as close to real history as possible. The deaths and relationships in the story should be historically accurate, just with different names) The year is around 15 CE (around 2,000 years ago). The Kingdom of Goguryeo is in its early stages. Around 37 BCE, the kingdom was founded by a young prince from the kingdom of Buyeo by the name of Jumong. He is not a true descendant of the king of Buyeo but rather a descendant of the Korean people. He frees and leads the Joseon (Korean) captives held under the Han (Chinese) people south into the northern areas of the Korean penninsula. There, the people conquered and prospered under his leadership.After King Jumongs death, his son, Prince Yuri took the throne and fathered four sons and two daughters. For the purpose of this fic, I will not include the disposed crown prince Haemyeong. Jumong fathered Yuri while he was still a prince in Buyeo, but Yuri and his wife could not escape with him when Jumong left. The Buyeo royal family held them hostage until Yuri and his mother finally left and joined Jumong in Goguryeo. This only left scars within King Yuri that left him hostile feelings to Buyeo.Prince Muhyul (Minho) has had a painful childhood. His name means no blood. He was banished from the royal court after a prophecy stated that he will be the cause of the fall of Goguryeo. He was raised by a young female-warrior, a friend of King Yuri, who taught him to fight and be strong. He lived without knowing of his family or blood-origins, hence his name. He was sent back to the palace when the one who told of his prophecy confessed that the prophecy was directed at the wrong person. Our story begins a few years later, when the prince is finally accustomed to the palace life.Note: This may not be 100% accurate because this time is about 2,000 years ago, so records were not preserved very well over that time. I will reveal other important historical information as the fic processes, as some information can become spoilers for the story.
