While in school you were forced to have a pen pale as a assignment in your Korean class, just for freshman year. Your pen pale was from Korea. His name was Huang Zi Tao. Because you two became good friends through the letters you continued to write to him even when the assignment was over.  He would often not respond back for a long time but you didnt want to ask why because you didnt want to seem irritating. The two of you would talk about your families, school, friends, and he also taught you some Chinese. By surprise, you were acturally able to learn. You even talked about meeting each other in person a lot.Throughout the year you also learned Chinese so you would be able to talk to him in his native language as well.After 3 years of pen paling he eventually became super busy so he stopped writing you back. Eventhough he never wrote back, he still sent you birthday gifts.You began to write to another person who lived in Korea. This time it was a girl named Choi Soo Young. She was a couple months younger than you, but you still called her "Unni".After about a year of writing, she invited you to come to Korea so you could both finally meet in person. Sadly your parents wouldnt allow you to go until you turn 20, in America that is. You were born on December 31, 1990, today is June 4, 2013.With the few extra months you had before leaving, you learned Some basic Japanese just incase you ran into some Japanese people as well.
