Kintsukuroi(n.) (v.phr) "to repair with gold"; the art of repairing pottery with gold or silver lacquer and understanding that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken.-Because when we are at our lowest and broken, we become stronger and beuatiful when we pick ourselves back up and put the broken pieces back together. ForewordShe stumbled back on the bed, crumpling the white sheets with her movement. She whimpered when she felt her back hit the headboard. Her eyes widened in fear as she looked at the man in the white coat that was slowly approaching her. Behind him were two other man in white as well. One of them had a file in his hands while the other had a sharp needle. Her palms became sweaty as she clenched them into tight fists. Having nowhere else to go, she backed off to the corner of the wall. Her feet scrambled backwards as she pushed herself back. She was desperate. Scared."Were not going to hurt you, Lena," the man approaching her said, with both of his hands up.Lies, she thought. Thats what they say every single time. They said they wouldnt hurt her. They said they were only trying to help her. They lied. Every single time they fed her with their sugar-coated words, she would find herself in pain. The pain was so unbearable that she had wished time and time again they had just killed her off.She didnt understand. She didnt understand why they had to do this. She didnt know why they said she needed help. She felt perfectly fine. She may not be like the other kids who can run around and laugh happily. No, she couldnt do that. She couldnt laugh. She couldnt scream. She couldnt cry out for help. Maybe it was because of that they kept hurting her. They couldnt understand that she was fine, that she didnt need any help. They couldnt understand because she couldnt make them to. They couldnt understand because she couldnt tell them. She couldnt voice out. She couldnt talk.Desperate tears streamed down her face as she clawed her fingers into the bed sheets. He was coming. He was going to hurt her again. She began kicking frantically when the man leaned down on her, the needle now in his hands. She didnt care if she hurt him with her kicks and hits. All she wanted was for him to go away. To stop hurting her. She wondered for a second if he would react the same way she did if he was in her shoes. Then it happened. He got her. He had managed to grip her hands, keeping her from throwing a fit. Exhausted, she panted heavily as her eyes met his. She felt something inside of her as she stared into his eyes that were void of any emotions at all. Couldnt he see that he was hurting her? Didnt he feel guilty for doing this at all?A scream suddenly echoed in the small room as the lights started flickering. The mans eyes widened in shock and fear as he let out a scream. He let go of her hands and clutched his head. His eyes turned red at the pain and the veins in his neck up to his temple became visually prominent. He let out another scream as he stumbled backwards and fell to his knees. All became silent again as soon as his body fell limp to the floor. The other two men stared bewildered at the sight before them. The doctor had blood running down his nose and out of his eyes and ears. They turned their attention to the 12 year old girl on the bed and their eyes rounded in fear. She was staring so intensely at the lifeless body of the doctor. Her jaw was clenched and her hands were in fists as well. She didnt even bat an eyelash as she continued staring at the body on the floor."What... did you do to him?" one of them whispered. The two men flinched when she redirected her gaze to them, not blinking at all. She did nothing but just stare at them. Just as they were about to run out of the room, one of them screamed in pain as he fell to the floor. His friend ran for the door when he saw the girls gaze turned to him. His fingers barely touched the handle when he felt his head ache to the point it felt like it was going to explode. He too, fell to the floor. Dead.
