My Last Wishes
‘Rest in Peace’Cho KyuhyunOur beloved son, brother, best friend, inspiration, shining star. The angel sent by God from the heaven to shine our life.To lightened our path.To teach us the meaning of perseverance. To provide us a taste of his love.~ 1988.02.03 – 20XX.02.02 ~Lord wanted his angel back to his side. In front of the tombstone engraved by the meaningful words from the close ones of the said man, who was in his eternal deep slumber were fourteen men in their late twenties and early thirties. Silent filled the compound of the cemetery on the peak of the small mountain in the rural region. Just the sound of sparrows chirping melodiously accompanied their mourn over the one who used to be their source of happiness, their worries, their tears and their strength. The one who used to be their ‘brother’ and would always be one.The gentle end of winter breeze blew in the air, lightly stroking their cheeks like soft caress of an angel. It was so comforting. There was warmth beneath the coldness that able to warm their freezing hearts deep inside. It made them thinking.‘He is here. Our brother is here.’They were very sure of it.The breeze blew again, carrying a pleasant scent of freshness. Part of their stress and burdens were eased off their shoulders. The newly-grown shrubs and flowers around them swayed freely with the wind. It was nearly spring after quarter a year of winter. The white blanket of snow on the ground almost disappeared. Left was the remains, thin layers of pale icy powder accompanied with mild spread of greens all over the earth. The sun rays finally breaking through the thick somber clouds, bringing the warmth craved by all the living creatures in the rage of area where the harsh winter happened before. All the men stared at the tomb in front of them with a smile etched on each of their lips – filled with the bittersweet remnants of farewell. Eyes dimmed with sadness, covered by the thinnest sheet of tears. They were sad. But somehow, they were also relieved and thankful. Relieved knowing that their ‘brother’ was in a good place and thankful to God for bringing their ‘brother’s’ misery to an end.The leader of the pack who was also the oldest there stepped forward, inching nearer to the tombstone and picked up the already wilted bouquet of red and white carnations. He then lowered the fresh pink chrysanthemums and white gypsophila, dropping them there. With a melancholic smile on his aging face, the leader stroked the name engraved on the neutral grey colored ceramic which was the mark of their ‘brother’s’ rest place while crouching down facing it.Heechul followed suit, crouching along beside him with an arm slung around the leader’s shoulder. His right hand outreached, putting a basket full of berries beside the flower bouquet. He reached over the tombstone, caressing it too, so softly like caressing his own brother.A real longing could be seen in their eyes which were staring softly at the name – Cho Kyuhyun.“Hi Kyuhyun-ah. How are you doing my brother?” Leeteuk smiled as the wind blew again, as if answering his question.“You must be very lonely, right? It has been a month since we last visit you here. We are very sorry Kyunnie. We have some matters that we need to settle in Seoul. Luckily, they are all done yesterday.” The sound of birds chirping on the trees adorned the peaceful silent there.“Wait for us Kyuhyun-ah. I can feel that we will meet soon. Very soon.” Foreword This is the rewrite version of My Last Wishes.I change the whole plot of this story from the old one. But the flow will remains the same. However, I am still going to add the scenes/events in the ‘used-to-be-first-chapter’ of this story in the old one here. But, I am not going to stuff the whole things in one chapter. I am going to separate them into a few different chapters, little by little.Anyway, I hope all the subscribers of the old one will not mind the changes I made on this fic. Note : English is not my native language. Lots of unintentional grammatical errors and typos may occur.
