She left him not that she doesnt love him.But because she doesnt have the confidence to raise baby Byunghun alone.She has no money at the time and was poor as a rat. They almost doesnt eatcausing her husband to have ulcer. Whenever there was spare food,they let Byunghun have it alone. Its fine if they starvebut they should keep baby Byunghun healthy no matter what.Thats what they keep in mind.And the day they feared came. Her husband died.His health has been deteriorating and his ulcer is at its worst condition causing his death.His mother cried alot after the incident. She was so devastated and lost all the the hope she has.Shes always spacing out and sometimes talk to herself and laugh for no apparent reason.Until one day, the landlord kicked them out of the apartment because they havent paid rent since the last three months. His mother pleaded but the landlord seems to have no mercy at all. So they started living on the streets.They became beggars and would sleep on the cold ground with nothing to eat nor to drink. They were so pitiful.After a few days, his mother made up her mind. She decided to abandon Byunghun.And maybe there will be a nice person who will adopt himand love him as his own son. The night came but his mother is still hesitating.But then, the thought of Byunghuns future came to her mind.And that settled her decision.She covered him with a blanket together with the handkerchief she knittedwith words written: Lee ByunghunShe placed him in a small basket and left him infront of a strangers house.She knocked on the door and immediately ran away with tears flowing from her eyes.But little did she know, before someone could even see Byunghun,a wolf lurking around their town heard him crying and approached the basket.He saw baby Byunghun in the basket and he looked at him as if he pitied him.When he heard the door opening, he quickly bit the handle and swiftlyran towards the forest.And there in the forest, they lived together.The wolf loved Byunghun and raised him nicely like his mother wanted to.He taught him many things, things that a wolf were supposed to know.Until Byunghun became a teenager.
